Permanently Disable Facebook Account 2019
You can shut down an account and then later reactivate it. While it's shut off, individuals can't see your timeline or look for you, though some details, such as messages you sent, may still be visible.
If you delete your account, it's gone for life and can not be reactivated. Facebook says that they "hold-up removal a couple of days after it's asked for" and that a deletion request is canceled if you log back into your account during that duration. They better say that it can take up to 90 days to remove data kept in backup systems.
