How to Permanently Deactivate Facebook 2019

Facebook has two means to disable your account. One is reversible and also the other is long-term.

You can shut off an account and afterwards later on reactivate it. While it's shut off, people can't see your timeline or look for you, though some information, such as messages you sent, might still show up.

If you erase your account, it's gone forever and can not be reactivated. Facebook claims that they "delay removal a couple of days after it's asked for" which a removal request is canceled if you log back into your account throughout that period. They better claim that it can use up to 90 days to remove information stored in back-up systems.
